Written By Chiyaan Vikram on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 | 8:00 AM

Confirming the rumours doing the rounds is the official announcement that Vikram will be teaming up with Ajay Gnanamuthu for his next, an action thriller. Arun Viswa, creative producer of the project, says, “This one will be a big-budget project that will be shot in Tamil, but also released in Telugu and Hindi. The content of the project has a universal appeal, which is why we wanted to release the film in three languages. Scripting is still on, and so, the rest of the cast and crew will be finalised by the second week of June. We are planning to begin shoot by August, and have already decided to release the film in April 2020. The film will be shot in India and abroad.”

There was a buzz that Anurag Kashyap might be a part of the film... But Arun says that no one has been approached for the film, yet. “The only thing I can divulge right now is that Vikram’s role will be a challenging one. Of course, he has always taken up challenging roles, but I think this one will be better than all of those,” he adds.

Saamy 2 will recreate set from first part

Written By Chiyaan Vikram on Thursday, March 22, 2018 | 8:05 PM

Remember the song Thirunelveli Halwa Da from Saamy, which was a rage among the fans of Vikram and music lovers when the film released in 2003?

Now, a source says that a street similar to the one which was shown in the song will be created for Saamy 2. “The street will have lot of changes in Saamy 2 — as years have passed by. A song and a fight will be shot in this street. But there may not be an intro number shot in the street set, unlike the first part .

It may take almost a week’s time to create the set, which will be erected on the outskirts of Tirunelveli town. The film has been shot in a few airports, railway stations and places like Delhi, Jaisalmer, Yercaud, etc, and is 80 percent complete. If everything goes well, a song will be shot in a foreign location in May, which will be on the lines of Halena from Iru Mugan,” the source informs.

Written By Chiyaan Vikram on Friday, July 15, 2016 | 7:55 AM

After canning a high-octane action sequence Kashmir, director Anand in Shankar has shot a romantic song Halena with Nayan and Vikram in Phuket, for Iru Mugan. CT got the exclusive still from the song, which we hear, is a breezy number shot in a live party scene on Paradise beach in Phuket.

Confirming the news, Anand Shankar says, “We have shot the song, Halena with Nayan and Vikram on a couple of beaches in Phuket. The song is basically about a couple on a holiday. Some portions were shot at the worldfamous Paradise Beach party, which usually has around 2000 people in attendance. Though we got the official permission from the management to shoot the party in progress, we planned to take candid shots of Nayan and Vikram partying there as we didn't want to disturb the actual mood of the party. And so, we let the duo join the people there and asked them to just party. With one camera, we shot that live party scene with the lead pair and a few of our dancers. It was very challenging as we did n't have any formal shooting equipment for the shoot and we couldn't even go for re-takes. We shot the scene around midnight for a couple of hours. I can say that we actually gate crashed the party and shot it. Vikram and Nayan were confident and put up a lovely performance thoughout the shoot.“

He adds, “Vikram has undergone a makeover from his rugged look for this romantic number.Halena is just a catchphrase for this song and we have plans to release the teaser of this romantic song tomorrow evening.“
