What’s the reason behind Maniratnam’s failure to get the title?

Written By Chiyaan Vikram on Monday, May 24, 2010 | 7:01 PM

It is well known that Maniratnam’s forthcoming trilingual magnum opus ‘Raavanan’ has been titled as ‘Villain’ in Telugu. But the industry buzzes that as the Tamil version is titled as Raavanan, it was expected that the Telugu version will be named as ‘Raavanudu’. But it doesn’t happen. There was reason for Mani to name it as Villain.

As the ace director
Dasari Narayana rao has been already registered with the title Raavanudu for his film and he is not willing to drop from it, Maniratnam has no other alternate and was contended with the title ‘Villain’.

The film features
Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Prithviraj and Priyamani in the lead roles. The movie will hit the big screens in June.
