The makers of “Raavan” are all set to tap Tamil and Telugu speaking audiences in the US by releasing the film in the two languages in over 40 screens in that country Friday.

The Tamil version, shot simultaneously with
Hindi, is titled “Raavanan”; while the dubbed Telugu version is called “Villain” and these are part of the film’s worldwide release. BIG Cinemas will release and market the theatrical screening rights of the film.

“There is a vast audience for regional Indian Cinema outside of India and particularly in the
US. We are dedicated to bringing these quality regional Indian language films to new markets where there are audiences waiting to be entertained,” Reliance MediaWorks CEO Anil Arjun said in a press statement.

The Tamil and Telugu versions of the film star
Vikram, Aishwarya Rai and Prithviraj Priyamani in the lead roles. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film has been co-produced by director’s banner Madras Talkies and Reliance BIG Pictures.

The music for “Raavanan” has been composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman, with cinematography by Santosh Shivan and Manikandan.
