‘A VIKRAM SHOW ALL THE WAY’

The makers of Thaandavam are happy with the public’s response to the film, as CT finds out

Vikram must be one happy man. Even as he is shooting for his next flick in China, the actor’s recently-released Thaandavam has been appreciated by audiences.

The UTV Motion Pictures’ film, which has a star-studded cast including Anushka, Amy Jackson, Lakshmi Rai, JB, Nasser and Santhanam, seems to have appealed to the audiences, according to the filmmakers.

“It is the best opening for Vikram among his last few films. So, we are obviously quite happy,” says G Dhananjayan of the production house, “Though it opened to mixed reviews on its opening day, it took off well this weekend. The collections are steady now and so, it means that the film has been accepted by the people.

” After the initial feedback, the makers of the film trimmed it by close to 10 minutes to make it more gripping. This Vijay-directed flick has been noted for its technical excellence. While the camera work by Nirav Shah has been described as excellent by many, the peppy songs by G V Prakash and action choreographed by Manohar Verma are also some of the highlights, say the filmmakers.

The lead actor’s interaction with Daniel Kish, an expert on human echolocation, which features in the film, seems to have helped him play the role much better. “It’s a Vikram show all the way,” adds Dhananjayan, “Thanks to him, the film has lived up to its hype. He has lent a lot of credibility with his powerful performance.”
