'I' Storms UK box office
Shankar's magnum opus Ai starring Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead roles hit the screens on January 14. The film received mixed reviews, but went on to perform well commercially. The film has done good business in the overseas market in its opening weekend.
Ai which was released in 55 screens in UK, had collected £258,764 and stands only next to Endhiran (£277,918) in all time Opening weekend collection. "I" opening weekend collection in UK, has surpassed Kaththi's (£222,526) opening weekend collection and moved to second spot in All time Opening weekend collection. The movie had collected 2,162,742 MYR in Malasiya and entered the top spot in Malaysian BO chart for the week. In Australia, the movie had collected 247,751$ from 18 screens.
