It’s definitely official! Amy Jackson has been signed on Shankar’s I opposite Vikram. Though no one from the team has sent out a press note, sources close to the filmmakers state that the British actress has indeed bagged the plum project. Initially, it was Samantha who had been signed on but the actress was forced to opt out as she developed a certain skin condition that needed extensive treatment.

Confirms the industry source, “When Shankar’s team had gotten in touch with Amy, she was out of the country as she had gone to judge a beauty pageant. Recently, Amy was in Chennai to attend a film awards night but came in a little early to sign on this project. In fact, on Sunday, Amy and Vikram did a special photoshoot for the flick.”

Aascar Ravichandran had told us earlier that there were two heroines in the project which he is producing but it looks like there’s only one leading lady. Meanwhile, Vikram has already started preparing for his role by hitting the gym. Apparently, he has two looks in the film — lean in the first half and beefed up in the second. Now we wonder what Amy’s look in the film is!

Power Star Srinivasan is all set to work with Shankar in I. If all goes well, he will be sharing screen space with Santhanam in the film. We hear the two will be indulging in some spoof act in the flick, which stars Vikram in the lead.

The Lathika actor confirms, “I’ve been approached to be part of I, but it will be just a guest appearance. I have combination scenes with Santhanam. Shankar’s team has told me that once his dates have been finalised, I will be signed on for the project.”

However, he refused to divulge details on his character. Interestingly, Srinivasan will be playing the lead in Santhanam’s first production, Kanna Laddoo Thinna Aasaya, which will also have him in an important role.
