Thaandavam, the 25th musical venture of music director,G.V.Prakash.Apart from the successful combinations of Vikram,Director Vijay and UTV,GV also has an additional responsibility of giving remarkable songs in his 25 th movie. To fulfill this, he has given us different musical chord for all the 6 songs.
1. Song: Yaaradi Mohini
Singers: Rahul Nambiar, Megha
Wonderful love lines coupled with ‘beat’ music from music director GV Prakash. The lyrics ‘Kannadi ival paarthaal… kavithai endru sollum…’ Ival paarvaiyil sudum vaanilai…’ in this song speaks completely about the lady-love and her characteristics. As the song progresses, the beats also go on a high note. Though this song gives a feeling of having heard it elsewhere, Na Muthukumar’s lyrics and Rahul Nambiar’s voice make us like it.
2. Song: Oru Paadhi Kadhavu
Singers: Haricharan, Vandhana Srinivasan
The first line ‘Nee enbadhe naanadi’ makes us sit up and expect the next line. This melodious number spells out the feeling of the lovelorn youth and the pain of being separated from his ladylove. Haricharan and Vandhana’s voice makes us enjoy this song right from the beginning till the end. Oru paadhi kadhavu neeyadi… oru paadhi kadhavu naanadi…’ is a song full of feelings and emotions. It is sure to turn into an anthem for the lovers.
3. Song: Unnale Azhagaanene
Singers: Alyssa, Maria
The song not only begins with the English lyrics 'Will you be there...' but also has tinges of English music despite changing to Tamil lyrics ‘Unnale azhagaanene… un aruge pennaanene…’ The music is louder than the lyrics which makes this song less enjoyable. GV Prakash has scored the music on par with the English songs but it is doubtful if this song would find favour among the music buffs.
4. Song: Adhigaalai pookkal
Singers: GV Prakash Kumar
Though this is a one-minute song, it stays in our minds for long. The lyrics ‘Adhigaalai pookkal… unnai paarkka yengum…’ depicts the beauty of the lady-love. Right from the beginning till the end, the melodious tune and soft voice attracts us.
5. Song: Uyirin Uyire
Singers: Saindhavi, Sathya Prakash, GV Prakash Kumar
The ladylove shows her love for the hero through this song ‘Uyirin Uyire…’ The song is all about the sacrifices that she makes for her lover and the motherly affection she has for him. Though different music instruments play in the background, it paves way for the lyrics which helps us visualize this song in our minds. This song may turn out to be an important aspect in GV Prakash’s music.
6. Song: Anicham Poovazhagi
Singers: GV Prakash Kumar, Chinna Ponnu, Velmurugan
Though this song is based on folk music, it is slightly different. This song, which is set in marriage function, is about the changes that a couple undergoes after marriage.
7. Song: Siva Thaandavam
Singer: SP Balasubramanian
The song begins with the Thaandavam’s loud noise and sounds of ‘Udukkai’. All types of Thaandavams are included in the lyrics. SPB has rendered this song on par with the loud music.
Let's wait n watch if these songs can create a ripple among the listeners.
