Ai, a magnum opus boasting of the Vikram - Shankar combination and produced by Aascar Ravichandran,is already making waves with its intriguing stills, Next, the makers of the film have planned an innovative promotion for the film.
Sources say that Vikram plays a body builder and the versatile actor, who goes to any extent to fit into the character he plays, has been losing and gaining weight as required. It is said that the actor had to weigh 50kg in the first half of the film to get that lean look and 110 kg in the second.
Insiders vouch that no graphics were used and Vikram followed strict regimen of diet and gym work to lose and gain weight to suit his persona in the film. Now, we hear that instead if using a regular 'making of Ai' as promo tool, Shankar, who always thinks differntly, will be releasing video footage showcasing Chiyaan's weight loss ( and gain ) programme as a promotional strategy.
This will be released a month before the film's release, it is learnt. while Amy Jackson sizzles alongside Vikram, the musical score is by A.R Rahman. Ace cinematographer P.C Sreeram is behind the camera.
