Acclaimed filmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who often makes controversial comments and statements, has done it again. After watching the theatrical trailer of Shankar's much awaited film, 'I', the director said that it was the only Indian film that was likely to be taken seriously by Hollywood filmakers.

He said that Shankar was a bigger personality now in Tamilnadu than Rajinikanth and Jayalalitha, a statement that has irked Rajini fans on a Social Media.

RGV wrote. 

• " 'I' in terms of its sheer originality, audacity, imaginativity and in every other vity is going to be ground breaker. 
• After seeing 'I' trailer purely as general common outsider I feel Shanker is bigger that Jayalalitha and Rajinikanth in Tamilnadu. 
• My prediction is that I collections on first day will be bigger than "Lingaa" and that's why i say Shanker is bigger than Rajinikanth.
• I was super huge fan of Rajinikant but now I shifted my loyality to Shanker.
• If at all Indian films ever will be taken seriously by Hollywood I think it will be because of Shanker's "I".
