Akshay Kumar was back in Chennai after a gap of seven years and was very happy to interact with Chennaiites at the promotion of Tamilnadu's first 24-hour home shopping channel. He greeted the gathering with a 'Vanakkam' and introduced himself much to the delight of everyone. Clad in casual tee and Sporting a thick beard, the khiladi of B'town said that he had shot for many films here during the early time of his carrer, and the city has changed a lot over the years in terms of infrastructure.
Actor Vikram, who was also present at the event, termed Akshay as one of the finest looking actors in the country and said that the latter would give a Hollywood stars a run for their money. He added that both of them forayed into filmdom at almost the same time and that he was always fascinated by Akshay's determination and risk taking attitude. In a case of mutual admiration, when Akshay was asked about his favorite star down south, he replied, "The person is standing very next to me. I have always admired his talent. Unlike me, he has won lots of awards. I envy him."
In an interesting turn. Vikram asked Akshay as to why heroines down south like Asin, Trisha, Shruti fly to B'town to get paired with the latter and the Baby star quipped. "Why do the north actresses go down south and act along with south actors and why actors up north aren't given a chance to act in south films! how about doing a film together, Vikram!"
