With his chiselled features, high cheekbones, and kind eyes, you' d find it difficult to put him down as the text-book movie villain, but it's as the bad guy that actor Rahul Dev has found his place in many a movie made in the south.Presently , he's working in two Tamil movies -one with Vikram, and the other with Ajith, and he says that, after a three-year hiatus from films, life is once again looking up for him.Chennai Times chats him up...
I BAGGED VIJAY MILTON'S FILM 10 ENRADHUKULLA ON THE BASIS OF A SELFIE...
I am someone you'd call tech-challenged. I have been a Johnny-comelately to social media, and that, too, I have been a reluctant user. Selfies are indulgences I consider totally worthless. So, when director Vijay called me up for this role, I was shooting in Kathmandu. He said he'd need a picture of mine. I had nothing on me. So, I shot this selfie, and sent it to him.Can you believe that this selfie got me the role! The producers of the film tried telling him that he should reconsider his choice given that I do not speak Tamil, but Vijay was determined to sign me on after seeing the selfie.
VIJAY IS A VERY VISUAL PERSON...
I am deeply impressed with Vijay , and it was marvellous working with him.His visual sense is incredible, and he believes less is more when it comes to the treatment he accords to his films. And that in a Tamil film is quite a tough proposition. I play a character from Uttarakhand, so most of my dialogues are in Hindi.
