WHO WILL STAR IN THE TAMIL REMAKE OF DRISHYAM?

It looks like the recent Malayalam hit Drishyam is hot on the remake circuit in Kollywood, with several stars eager to star in its Tamil version. Among the names being bandied about for the lead role, which was played by Mohanlal in the original, are Kamal Haasan, Sarath Kumar and Vikram. While the Ulagayanagan was approached for it, he has chosen to skip it citing his current commitments. It was reported that Sarath Kumar was toying with the idea of playing the lead role. However, when we contacted him, he stated, “I did watch the Malayalam film, and loved it. But I have not expressed interest in its Tamil remake.”

So, it now looks like Chiyaan Vikram — who is currently completing Shankar’s Ai and has projects with Vikram and Hari lined up — is the frontrunner to play the protagonist, who is the father of a 18-year-old girl, in the Tamil remake. Interestingly, he played a father in one of his recent releases, Deiva Thirrumagal.
